Symphonia V3

[Kiana Black]

Lee sighed as she came out of the barn, breathing the smell of horses in one last time. The scent managed to push all her worries to the back of her mind and she turned toward the woods at the back of her yard.

Her german-shepherd cross huskie met her at the door, his curly tail wagging fiercely. Patting his neck, she looked for Vicky. "Ready?" she asked.

"Ready," Vicky replied as she stepped out behind Lee and adjusted her cloak around herself, "it's been a while."

[Kiana Black]

"Yeah," Lee nodded. "You haven't been out here since Christmas." She zipped her jacket up to her neck, feeling the cold, April air. It was supposed to be spring but winter missed the memo. "Jazzy! Go for a walk?"

[Glyphhunter]

"Christmas," Vicky repeated, grinning at the memory. "That was great," she nodded to herself and tucked her hands into her pockets as she waited for the great dane to come from the house.

As the black-and-white great dane bounded up to them, tail wagging and a string of drool hanging from her lips, Lee turned to head for the path to the woods.

"So," she said, "I had a super weird dream the other night. It was about Symphonia, which I haven't played in forever, so why the heck would I dream about it? But yeah - oof, Jazzy!" the big dog had thrown herself against Lee's side as she passed. "Anyway, I think I was in Symphonia. And - oh! I was related to Lloyd. It was so weird."

[Glyphhunter]

"You were related to Lloyd?" Vicky raised a brow, interested to hear another of Lee's whacked out dreams.

[Kiana Black]

"Yeah," Lee said slowly, her eyes on Ace, the shepherd-husky, as he bounded across the field. "I think so. Something like that. And I had a job too. And my parents were there! Man, I have messed up dreams."

[Glyphhunter]

"So what, did you go on an adventure and save the world?"

[Kiana Black]

"Nope," said Lee, shaking her head for emphasis. "I just lived there. Had a job, was friends with Colette and them. That was it."

[Glyphhunter]

"Huh," Vicky tilted her head, "that's like when I dreamed I was in Flanoir. It sucked though. I've had enough of snow I don't want to dream of more of it."

[Kiana Black]

"You used to like snow!" was Lee's immediate, somewhat indignant response. She loved the snow. "Wait - you dreamed you were in Flanoir? I wanna go to Flanoir!"

[Glyphhunter]

"Of course you want to go to Flanoir," Vicky rolled her eyes. "The only thing I liked about it was the little coffee shop I ran."

[Kiana Black]

"You ran a coffee shop!" Lee exclaimed, groaning. "I'm jealous! I worked at a store! I wanna run a coffee shop! Damn you - ACE! Dumb dog."

[Glyphhunter]

She hummed and watched the dog as he turned back towards the path. "I'm not sure how I knew it was Flanoir, though. Nothing about it seemed like the game."

[Kiana Black]

"Dreams work in mysterious ways," Lee joked. "Or I guess it's your subconscious. Whatever."

[Glyphhunter]

Vicky snorted, "Whatever, indeed. At least you had familiar people. I didn't recognize anyone."

[Kiana Black]

Lee scoffed, "I was related to Lloyd! How does that even work?"

[Glyphhunter]

"I dunno," Vicky shrugged, "genetics are weird." She blinked when she realized wasn't weaving ahead of them. "Ace!" she called, looking through the surrounding trees.

[Kiana Black]

Lee sighed in annoyance. That damn dog. "Ace! Here!" she snapped, eyes on the trees where she knew he had disappeared into.

[Glyphhunter]

Her lips thinned as she held her breath, trying to listen for any type of movement. "Ace!" she called again and straightened when she heard something move through dead branches.

[Kiana Black]

"Whatever, he'll come, let's just go," Lee said but Vicky didn't appear to be listening. Jazzy whined at Lee's side and she sent the cowardly great dane a look and a quick pat, wondering what the dog's problem was. She was probably just cold, the overgrown Chihuahua.

[Glyphhunter]

Vicky huffed and stepped off the path, hopping down between the trees to get a better look. "Ace!"

She saw him a fair bit away, nose to the ground and steadily moving further away, "Ace, come!"

[Kiana Black]

"Ah -" Lee sighed, watching as Vicky disappeared into the woods. "Seriously, he'll come back. Ahh, whatever. I'm not going in, hey, Jazz?" she reached out and patted the great dane's black head and the dog let out another long-winded whine. "What's your problem?" she asked, scratching behind the dane's ears. "Weirdo, it isn't that cold..."

[Glyphhunter]

She heard a splash as Ace went behind a tree and she cursed to herself, not really wanting to follow him through the creak. "Ace!"

She jogged to catch up, frowning in confusion when she couldn't see him beyond the water. "Where did you go?" she muttered to herself and stepped into the water.

"Vicky?" Lee called, frowning when she realized Vicky's calls for Ace were getting quieter. "Don't worry about it!" she yelled but there was no response.
