"Sounds like a plan," Sheena nodded approvingly. "The sooner we get outta here the better. I can't stand this forest," she added in a mutter as she walked on ahead. "Don't forget to let me know if you need any gels. I don't need you collapsing on me before we're clear of this place, okay?"

"Okay," Vicky repeated with her own nod. She followed Sheena at a close distance, her ears straining to hear anything out of the ordianry within the trees.

Sheena stopped walking quite abruptly as a thought ran through her mind. "Oh yeah," she said turning to face Vicky who had had to come to a stop as well. "Hand me your stick," Sheena gestured to the half-elf's makeshift weapon. She then reached under her sash and pulled out a thin-bladed knife. She began to run the blade along the end of the stick carefully and repetitively until it sharpened into a point.

It took but a few minutes and she handed a perfectly carved spear to Vicky with an air of triumph. "There!"

Vicky took her weapon back and turned it over in her hands, examining the new point. "Thanks," she said, giving it a test swing and listening at it cut through the air.

"Alright," Sheena said decisively, hands on her hips. It took hours to get out of the forest and the sky was steadily darkening as the sun disappeared further beyond the horizon.

"Time to set up camp!" she exclaimed as she dropped her bag. SHe then bent to dig out her sleeping bag. "Can you gather some firewood while I set up here?" she asked.

"Yeah," Vicky nodded, turning back towards the the trees. She picked up some of the branches that littered the ground, looking specifically for the ones still holding twigs. The off-shoots could be used for kindling.

She ended up having to carry her spear across her arms wither the rest of the wood when she decided she had enough. With a yawn, she turned back to the camp.

"Here," she spoke to the ninja, dropping the pile then sitting next to it. "Careful," she warned, "my stick's in there."

Sheena looked up from where she'd been taking dried meat from her bag. The sleeping bag was set up and she'd cleared an area for a fire while taking out a pot.

"You like stew? 'Cause that's what I'm making," she said while carefully sifting through the pile of sticks to start a fire.

Vicky hummed her confirmation as she made herself comfortable. Her legs were and the left one practically numb, though the bite still throbbed every once in a while. "How long will it take to get to Sybak again?" she asked.

Sheena lit the fire with flint and a piece of metal, watching as the first stick caught flame and spread to the others. The fire grew quickly and the ninja relished in the warmth it gave.

"Should take us until about noon to reach Sybak. We'll probably leave around eight tomorrow morning," she finally replied, starting the stew.

"Alright," Vicky nodded with a sigh. She lifted her glasses to rub at her eyes, "God, I'm tired."

"Ah, yeah I guess you would be," said Sheena, giving a yawn. "Been a pretty long day, huh. You should get some rest after you eat. I'll take watch."

"All night?" she wiped the wetness from her fingers on her cut-offs then dug her weapon from the pile.

"Sure," Sheena said. "I can handle it. Plus, I've got Corrine. You just worry about getting your rest, okay?" She stirred the stew before sending a confident smile at the half-elf.

"Okay," Vicky nodded. She bent her head to the side and pulled her shoulder slightly, cracking her neck. Then she repeated he process for the other side, sighing at the more relaxed feeling in her neck.

Sheena's stomach growled and she grinned sheepishly, silently hurrying the stew on. It only had to simmer now. The two relaxed into silence, the mere sound of the flickering fire and crickets chirping filling the night sky.

When the stew was finally warm enough, Sheena scooped two bowls full and passed one to Vicky. "Eat up," she said in relief.

Vicky only hummed as she stirred the mixture in her bowl before taking a large spoonful. She hummed again when she tasted it, a smile appearing on her face. "This is wonderful," she complimented then continued with her meal.

Sheena grinned. "Thanks," she murmured swallowing her own mouthful of the warm liquid. "I don't cook much so when I do, it's mainly simple things. Glad you like it," she picked up another spoonful. "I'm just thankful for the food," she added with a laugh.

After a few more bites, she paused as a thought occured to her. "You don't believe me, do you?" she questioned, "you think I'm creating a fantasy to cover up for something."

Sheena's eyebrows lifted at the suddenness of the question and she stared at Vicky thoughtfully for a moment. "I can tell that there's something... unusual about you," she gestured to Vicky's clothing, "and that you're obviously confused. But it's a lot to take in, you know? Right now, I just wanna focus on getting your leg fixed."

Vicky only stared at her. You're avoiding the question, was what she wanted to say but she couldn't bring herself to do so. Instead, she sighed and returned to her stew.

"So why don't you tell me more about you, stranger?" Sheena spoke up after a moment's silence. She didn't like quiet. She had to talk, needed to hear herself or someone else talking. Besides, maybe she'd be able to believe more in Vicky's tale if she heard more about it.

Vicky blinked. "I'm not qute sure what to tell you," she shook her head slightly, "I mean, I'm not sure what would be relevant."

"Well, I'm nineteen. How old are you?" Sheena scooped a second helping and offered the ladle to Vicky.

"Eighteen," Vicky took the offered scoop as she replied, "though the years back home are shorter than they are here. 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year. I'm betting I age faster than you do." She poured herself another bowl as she spoke then took a bite of it when she finished.

Sheena blinked, "Really? You have less than 765 days in a year?" She whistled slightly. "So you're technically older than I am?" She was beyond confused.
